On the 20th of October, Lucita International Preschool teachers and children together not only celebrated the meaningful Vietnamese Women’s Day but also prepared for a special event to express our love and gratefulness to our beloved grandparents – Grandparents’ Day.

Our grandparents and families came very early in the afternoon. We could see the joyfulness spread out in the atmosphere when everyone came in with the happy face. Our children were really excited to see the beloved grandparents, mum and dad. We had prepared for the day and so much eager to welcome grandpa, grandma, mum and dad to join our activities together at school.

All the activities were held in nice and cozy classrooms of Lucita. We were all, children, families and teachers, hands in hands happily took part in the afternoon Circle time, sang cheerful songs of “Oh, how lovely is the afternoon”, “Let us form a ring”, read poems, listened to the special story. Our children had a chance to show how confident they were in acting out the story characters, talk with grandparents about the delicious dishes that they could make in the cooking club, or how good they were in martial arts, etc. We were also very proud to give our grandparents the beautiful presents that we prepared by ourselves. The presents can be very simple, a crayon drawing picture, a handmade card, or a paper craft… that we had made with all our heart. It is a way that our children want to express our love and sincere thanks to our grandparents.

We also join the afternoon snack time together on that day. Our children poured the orange juice, and took more delicious food to invite grandparents and others. Minh Khoi’s grandfather said: “How touching the event is. It’s the first time I take part in such a special and meaningful day like this”.
